Gem City Rat Rompers - Dayton, Ohio
Gem City Rat Rompers is the official Barn Hunt club in Dayton, Ohio. We are part of Gem City Dog Obedience Club. We hold officially sanctioned barn hunt trials 3-5 times a year at a fully-fenced 10-acre property in northern Dayton. We also provide affordable training opportunities for both members and nonmembers of Gem City Dog Obedience Club. You can buy GCRR merch here. Learn more about us below!
Practices
Our practice schedule is released monthly. The most up to date practice schedule can be found as Facebook Events co-hosted by Sam Davis and the Friends of Gem City Dog Obedience Club group on Facebook. The address is 542 Valleycrest Dr, Dayton OH 45404:

Information
Open to anyone who shows up - no membership or preregistration required. Don’t forget your dog!
- Logistics: We start around 6pm and will accept sign ups until 8pm. The order you sign up in is the order you run in.
- Cost: $5 per run, 2 runs/dog max. Cash/check strongly preferred, or PayPal. We cap at 18 dogs/session.
- First Timers:
- Leave your dog in the car
- Come inside to sign up
- Tell us you’re new.
- Bring lots of treats!
- Bring belly bands (if needed)

- January 11th and 12th - Registration Closed. Post Trial Survey Results
- March 1st and 2nd - Registration Closed. Post Trial Survey Results Incoming.
- May 3rd and 4th - Registration Closed.
- June 21 and 22 (Rottweiler Specialty - priority registration to Rotties) - Registration Opens 04/21, Closes 06/11
- August 23rd and 24th - Registration Opens 06/22, Closes 08/13
- October 18th and 19th - Registration Opens 08/17, Closes 10/08
Information
Trials are sanctioned by the Barn Hunt Association. To participate, you must register your dog and have a permanent Barn Hunt registration number. This is a one-time fee. Below are resources to help you on your barn hunt journey.
